Session News #7: Return-to-work bill moves to the full House, COLA bill rejected

The House retirement committee today favorably reported House Bill 43 (Rep. LeBas) to the full House for consideration. This legislation would increase the earnings limit from 25% to 50% of the retirement benefit for a TRSL retiree who returns to work as a substitute classroom teacher. In other action, House Bill 42 (Rep. Jones) failed to advance out of committee. It would have provided a 1.5% permanent benefit increase (also known as a COLA) ...
Session news #6: Service credit bill moves to the Senate

The full House today passed House Bill 10 (Rep. Pearson). The legislation would allow TRSL members to purchase service credit for out-of-state, private school teaching service.
